Post Dyeing body trim with Forever Black.

Just ordered Foreve Black and planning on dyeing the sun-faded rubber trim between the upper and lower body panels on both sides in the rear quarters. Should I do it with the trim on the car or off the car? How easy is it to remove the trim; it seems to be loose.

Thx

I left the trim on, using masking tape on the paint work. Looks fine.

Terry's approach sounds ok, but you do want to avoid getting the Forever Black on your car's finish. Calling that stuff "dye" is appropriate. Any that gets on the finish will be difficult, but not impossible, to remove. Also be careful using the applicator; it can become very generous in releasing that stuff.

I agree with Jim. You might get some double protection by applying a layer of wax first to the adjacent paint area, then mask.

Thx for your respsonses. Since I'll have to clean the trim first, I thought it might be easier with the trim off the car and also to avoid accidents when dyeing. On the car, I agree masking tape is a must.

Thx
