I defenitly would keep the twisters.
I had the same dilemma a year ago for my car. I went to a friend of mine who has a tire shop so he fitted different wheels on my car just to see how it would look.
I really like those BBS wheels but not on a street 993.

Best regards

Delanobe,
I know, I have been wavering back and forth for some time.. then I thought there are so many 911s with twisters around, lots of 996s too, that by changing my car would look more personal... not an easy choice, but I will keep the twisters in reserve in any case...

Go for the Cargraphics, Phil. You obviously think they look good, as do I. Never been a big fan of the twists.

Those BBS wheels remind me of all the cars I used to dream about when growing up. If you like them, I say go for it, though you can't go wrong with the twists, expecially on dark cars IMO!

Good choice Phil.

I love the Y spoke type wheels as well.

Some pics of the Kinesis K28R on my car.

I agree that twisters would look silly on your car because it's a gt conversion but on a classic 993 it's a different story.

Hmmmm... well, guess I'll have to eventually go for a GT2 conversion to match my wheels then...

Phil

"In my opinion" these are the best looking wheels of all. I have been wanting them since the first day I saw them on a Roock 993 Porsche. I have been debating whether to get them or not and was not sure because of the Magnesium issue that Greg highlighted for a street car (and also advised me against, thanks Greg).

The cargraphic wheel that you showed is either the 19" or the 18" with reverse lip, and they are not the nicest. I have the 19" on my 965 (pic attached below). However the best looking is the 18" Cargraphic racing wheel painted in Gold, the lip is much nicer than the 19". When I received the wheels I could not stop looking at them. These wheels are TUV approved, very solid. By far the greatest thing I bought for my 993, and I did buy a few things

I am attaching below a picture of the 18" fitted on my WIP car, in person they look amazing. If you decide to change your mind you might want to send an email to Thomas Schnarr T.schnarr@cargraphic.de , the owner in Germany, great guy and very helpful, also their support is great. No affiliation.

Phil,

I couldn't make up my mind as well. So, I have HRE 540Rs for show, the Roocks for everyday driving and Twists for the track (eventually!).

Gorgeous car Addison! I had those same Roock wheels on a previous 993, they are great, but I like the HRE better, I must have a weakness for multispokes..

Jean,
I ordered the 18" three piece cargraphic racing wheel, painted BBS gold. You are right, I posted the wrong picture of the cargraphic wheel...
Thanks

I have to agree that the BBS racing wheels look brilliant on a lowered 993. I have a set for my track wheels and every time I see the car with the BBS wheels on it reminds me of Le Mans or any of the real racing Porsches.

I like to at least pretend

These wheels are very light, but certainly not for the street as the centers are magnesium.

If you absolutely must, get the Kinesis, as above. Those a very nice but don't forget no matter how young we feel on the inside the outside belies our true age. After market wheels imply more of a youthful exurberance best left to our younger members. Nothing worse than a 65 year old woman wearing a mini skirt, if you know what I mean.

Your car has a VERY classy, "classic" look of a 911. You really should not turn that beautiful example of what a Porsche should look like into and aftermarket rod.

Your choice... but if you do... then it will be more apparent to me why you fail to see the inherent gracefulness and beauty demonstrated in Porsches' design of the classical arched, middle safety light found on all cabriolets. After thought or not, it is a classic example of and in design. I always think of Rome when I look at it, I am sure you know why without further explanation.

I tend to focus on the detail of things because of my appreciation for the understanding that the whole consists of many parts. And with a Porsche, parts just ain't parts. They are all beautiful in their own right and conjoin to make a 3 dimensional piece of art. I love angles and curves and how they play against each other.

Anyway, I find myself just going on and on so I won't bore you anymore.
