I have close tracks (So Cal - Buttonwillow and Willow Springs), but I recently moved back here from Cleveland. Home track was Mid-Ohio with 10-12 tracks within a days drive. Now if I could figure out how to get the weather of So Cal and the tracks of the center of the US.

Mike (or anyone else that is interested):

If you're ever looking for an very interesting way to Road America, let me know. I can provide you with an interesting and scenic route I take starting from north of Milwaukee to the track. It doesn't take too much longer than taking Hwy 43 (yawn) to Hwy 57 (yawn). Some our backwoods county trunks in WI can be fun.

P.S. I agree with inflating your tires to 44 psi for the winter months. I've been doing that for years with never any problems. My brother swaps his good tires and rims out for junk rims and mismatched tires just for winter storage. Of course his method cost more than pumping up your tires, but he only incurred the cost once and it'll last him as long as he keeps a Porsche around.

I'd love to know your route to Road America. Usually I'm heading up early in the AM to make driver registration and van arounds, but occasionally go up the night before and would appreciate a more leisurely and fun way to get there.

Since you're from Wisconsin, did you know there once was a track at Wilmot Ski area? SCCA used to race there in the sixties.
