S.B.

Nice car. Congratulations.

So when it stops raining, where's the first drive? Big Sur? Laguna Seca?

But how come there's no snowblower in your garage?

(You're in a great part of the country for that car.)

Well done. Congrats and welcome.

Nice 540, by the way. I'm with you on that one.

Well, well, well.

No more whining out of you sir! Just Kidding. I bet you are thrilled. I have the same exact 530i Silver as well. One of these days I'll stop putting so many miles on it and take a couple of pics.

Question? I always thought the "S" varient of the 993s has "Big Red" brakes. I have noticed quite a few C2S and C4S 993s that have black calipers like my C2 (including yours). I also noticed that not all of the "S" models have the rear "split" wing. Some are the normal units a' la C2 and C4 non-S models.

Congrats again!

Kim,
Great car! I expect to see you nearby on Hwy 1 or 68 soon! (after the rain of course, I don't take mine out in the WX either if I can help it).

Jeff,
Any chance of cobbling together that tour again? I know a couple of 993s down here that wouldn't mind the drive!

Hi Kim,

Congratulations

I'm so glad that things work out with you and Mark.

That is certainly one great car Kim, and I believe that you'll enjoy the car for years to come.

Don't stop grinning... I still find myself sometimes going to the garage just to look at my car and grin. It's one of the things that I'm very thankful of...

Btw I'm heading to Monterey tomorrow ... so maybe if I do run into a silver 993 C2S (btw does it still have the Raiders sticker?) I'll make sure that I'll wave. I won't be driving my 993 C4S though since there'll be three of us and I don't think my fiancee's sister will appreciate it if I ask her to sit on the back of the 993 from San Jose to Monterey

Once again, Congratulations Kim

Oh and yeah.. let's do the drive Jeff, and let's include Kim and others, that should be fun!

Have a great weekend,
pin

Yes, I'd definately like to drive that route again.. Now the only trick is find a weekend where it's not raining. It'll probably be in Feb sometime.

Kim, nice car. I drive to Monterey often for no other reason than the journey itself. Found 92 Octane at the 76 station at the south end of Marina, as I recall that was one of your concerns. Big Reds were on C4S only, not even an option on C2S. You could, however get option XRD Red Painted Brake Calipers. This is not the Big Reds, just $1345 worth of special paint. Split grille was standard on all C2S in 97 and 98. I'd be very interested to exchange maintenance and driving experience (65K mi) for feeling the M030 ROW and hearing the Motorsound, especially in the PG tunnel http://forums.rennlist.com/forums/biggrin.gif Drop me an email. Rain no problem, even though I just waxed.

I can't seem to shake this silly grin, jaw is beginning to hurt.
Kim,
I posted the exact same sentiments when I first bought mine. Likewise, others here say it doesn't go away. I'll go a step further, the smile gets worse the more you drive! And if you DE, watch out. Some might think you got the grin tatood on! Enjoy it

>>Topic: Okay, I'm official now...picked up my C2S today! <<

Enjoy it and have fun. Congrats.
BTW, ownership of car is not required here, enthusiasm is. So you were always as official as anyone here. Best of luck. Your car has options that I like.

>>>.Now I can bug you for driving tips, modification and maintenance information<<

I'd wait to modify. No, I dont mean to chime in with that usual bit about upgrading driver first blah blah since on that premise I would be on a tricycle forever but seriously, have fun with what you have for some time so that you can get maximum satisfaction for every level of power that you experience. Nice to take your own sweet time to climax huh (unless you were already experiencing a higher hp car and this is more of a downgrade power wise for you)

Hey Kim way to go...I too had been a lurker up until a month ago when I got my c2s also Last week I had to do a 120 mile roundtrip to the mtns down here just to pick up apple pies. Talk about commitment to family. "No honey, its no problem, i can get the desserts."

Congrats on the car. We have almost identical cars as I have a Silver/Black C2S with Row M030. I have had the car for a few months and the obsession gets worse

Have fun and drive it!
