Post track season is over? Mid Atlantic Winter

http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?...124&p=56745733

I spent a day peeling decals off the car, waxing, changing tires, installing exhaust incerts. The car is now ready to spend months in the garage and go get an occasional bottle of wine. Sounds pretty boring to me. What if I do not drive another track event until April, will I have lost a few of the skills I developed my first Summer of DE's?

Lets see... I have a trailer...

Funny you should mention Karts. I was just checking out Kart sites. Have not found any indoor tracks in my area but I will keep looking around. Outdoor tracks will stay open most of the time as we don't see any lingering snow.

I raced sailboats a bit and the best drivers (helmsmen) developed their skills on small boats. I see mentioned alot that F1 drivers have Kart experience and keep filling the gaps driving Karts.

Or you could always sell the car to someone guaranteed to never let it see a garage!

You drive too fast and the yellow paint would blow off!

Chris,
The positive side of selling the car to you is I would not have to put it back stock. I have a shed full of seats, panels, shocks, bars, links, mufflers... So I put the car in the shop and have it reassembled to stock. Probably 4K in labor, forget that. The suspension is a work of art.
You are ready for that GT3R on Rennlist. Did you check it out? Hot set up.

Bill, there is a top quality indoor race kart facility out here by me in Sterling, VA (just west of Reston). E. J. and I have been there a few times. It's a blast and the owner and managers are true track nuts.

I'll try to organize a Rennlist/PCA night there sometime. Would you drive out here for pizza and karts?

Go to Allsports Grand Prix to see the place.

Regards,

John

Bill that is a very nice car, and one very serious case of early apex

Bill,

What the hell did you do that for? It is 70 degrees this weekend at VIR and Chris and I are going to play with the guys from G&W - full course, open track, only experienced drivers. Plus open house at the shop when you are not on the track and dinner Sat. night with the team.

How'd you miss this one?

I will be sure to send you pictures of the weekend.

John, That looks like a great time. Sterling is not much of a drive from here. I would love to try it out.

E.J.,

Have to work this weekend but I am eyeing the Lowes event on the 15th & 16th.

Bill,
What about Sebring in Feb. I will be there for the Club Race but they also have a DE for experienced guys.
Here is the link : http://www.48-hours-at-sebring.com/

It will be a good time if you can make it.

Greg,
Looks like a great weekend of driving. Thats a long tow for my pee-shooter but no mountains. I am going to sign up and look into taking my PCA race test during the event. I will contact the region and see if thats an option. I am down to a seat brace and window net to comply.

Thanks for the heads up.
