Post Best Short Shift Kit for C2

I'm ready to have my dealer install my RS clutch kit on my 97 C2 and I want to have a short shift kit installed at the same time. I'm more concerned about quality and performance than price. Does anyone manufacture a kit with all steel construction vs. plastic (is plastic more quiet on the street)?

I've heard of kits by Ruf, Weltmister, and the Factory RS. Are any others worth considering. Above all else I want quick positive action so as not to miss shifts on track days.

Thanks for any info.

You can't go wrong with the factory unit. It fits and works very well.

Factory RS kit is excellent. No plastic parts. I purchased it from Mike Schatz @ Schatz Motorsports.

Wink

I think that was a "glitch in the matrix."

Viken,

I have option number (can't remember) but it is for "short shifting" or "short shifter" or similar on my option sticker. Is this the RS unit or a modified stock unit?

Thanx,

E. J.

Yes, I remember seeing a post regarding such a "mystery" option. M241 "short shifting travel" or M243 "short gear shift lever." Neither one of these were on the US or ROW 993 order guides. These option numbers are very old and applied to pre-964 models. I am still curious as to how your car ended-up with one of them.
