key conversion back to switchblade?
I converted my key from the switchblade style to the new fob style. When I did that, I ended up breaking the case on the old one. I am not fond of the new style and wanted to go back the switchblade style. The problem is that dealers say this is no longer available. Do you know if there are any of these available somewhere so that i can switch back?

I have a third switchblade assembly with no key that came with my 993 when I purchased it from the original owner. I slipped-in a battery but it wouldn't operate the doors, meaning that the board is either bad or it needs to be programmed. Regardless, it's a spare so if you e-mail me at jansan946@yahoo.com, I'd be happy to work a swap.

The part number is 993 637 049 01 433 and I was able to get one at my local dealer.
I've heard tell that the switchblade has a lower range than the key-fob, but I have both and neither work further than 4ft from the car, even with new batteries.
