Default Rear Seat Delete

While at my mechanic today, he had a rear seat delete portion from a 964 RS America. he is willin to sell it to me for a good price. I did some looking around in the old threads about this subject but i couldn't find the info i am looking for.
Does anyone know if this part from a 964 will fit a 993?
Thanks in advance.

touf, I have a '97 993 that came with the rear seat delete option from the factory. My friend has a '93 RS America with the rear seat delete and both of our pieces look exactly the same. I am not sure if there are minute differences, but I would have to think that the RSA piece is a fit. Maybe your mechanic can let you do a test fit to be sure.

BTW, in the process of reducing weight, my friend removed his rear seat delete. It weighed in at around 25 lbs. It's made of some heavy plywood.

I appreciate the help.

Touf,

I was curious as to how much they were charging for the rear seat delete? I have one, and the previous owner had a receipt for almost 3k for it. Seemed a little crazy for just some carpet and plywood, but I like it!

Can any of you guys post a good picture of the rear seat delete, or guide me to a link where I could see it?

Thank you.

It would be pretty cool if someone could make a replica of the RSD out of carbon fiber and use all of the hardware and doors off of the wood RSD since it weighs so much.

$3k? Thats crazy. If that was the case, I would sell mine in a heartbeat. I have seen asking prices of $300-400 for used examples. The "storage in place of rear seat" option on my original sticker was $689.00.

Joe,

Thank you for posting the picture. First time I see one of those. It makes me wonder why would one want it..I understand some extra storage space but no weight advantage I think what I need is the rear panel only and a carpet set like the RS to cover it. Any leads anyone on who sells them?

Touf, I would think the 964 and 993 are the same sizes.

Thank you.

I thought that sounded a little expensive. Looks like LA Dismantler sells them for $600, and they say 90-98 911's use the same RSD.

How did you end up installing the wiring to the locks? I have one of these I am going to install next week.

Thanks,
Lon
