Is there a way to add an enameled P-crest to the embossed-only design on the stock steering wheel of my '98 Carrera S? I seem to recall a similar thread here but can't find it in the archives.

For about $50 you can get a 356 hood crest with an adhesive backing that fits the steering wheel. I did it and think it looks great. I got mine at www.performanceproducts.com

I was thinking about doing exactly just that. But I also do have a safety related concern. In a severe frontal crash when the airbag deploys, would that metal hood crest become a flying metal projectile?
Just wondering...

I bought three little bottles of Testor's paints; gold, red, and black and a pretty good quality small camel hair brush. Spent thirty careful minutes and came up with a painted crest on the steering wheel which looks excellent and will not impale me if the air bag ever deploys. It's the right price and if you don't like the relusts you can remove it easily.

I bought mine from performance products. Did anyone try using a different adhesive? Mine kept falling out of position a little bit at a time due to excessive summer heat.

I bought mine from Performance Products. Same problem: the adheasive gave way under heat. I called them and asked if they had a solution; kinda blew me off and said I should use epoxy!! I haven't had the nerve to try it. Any ideas?
