Post Engine Air Duct?

I noticed the rubber piece behind the engine fan has cracked. This is the duct that connects to the heater inlet and directs air down to the cylinders. PET indicates this is called an air duct # 993.106.403.00. Anyone replaced this? Any pitfalls? The part in question is displayed as #5 below....

Curtis;

It is easy to replace. It most likely cracked if you have replaced your alternator. Just be extremely careful so that you don't drop any 10mm bolts. You'll be fishing them out between the cylinders.

Curtis, mine cracked last December at a DE and started disintegrating - it was VERY brittle. I was going to leave it but thought better since it must be important for engine cooling. So I have had a piece of duct tape on it since then. Looks silly, but works fine. My list is too long and that is not important enough to be at the top. If you change it, let me know how it goes. I remember when I did my alternator (before the part in question started falling apart) that it's probably not that hard to take of.
