Here in california we have ****ty 91 octane gas. I want to mix this with 100 octane during my up-coming track event.

Naturally, pouring 100 octane in first, then adding regular fuel is the prefered method, but my question is what will happen if I fill up with 91 octane first, then add the 100 octane? Will things mix up adequately? I would fill 3/4 tank w/ 91 and then top-off 1/4 tank with 100.

No matter which way you add the gas, the two are infinitely miscible and will become completely equilibrated in a matter of minutes by simple diffusion. (Translation from chemist-speak: it doesn't matter which way you add it.)

I would consider this option:

Send your ECU on a short vacation to Rennsport Systems. Re-map for race gas.

Have a underground tank installed at home and fill it with VP-103 Motorsport gas.

Fill your tank.

Go to the track.
