Mine is in front of the tach, as done by Dan in St. Louis. Sits on the steering column, held in place by velcro. Perfect location if you ask me....I always have my eye on the tach.

I've posted this before but never got an answer...
Has anyone tried to fit the V1 remote display where the OBC display would otherwise be (my car is non-OBC so there is an empty space there)using an OBC tach or cutting out the tach face? Looks to be more or less the same size but is there enough room behind the face?

Sorry, I do not have photos. On my car (coupe) the V1 is mounted on the rear shelf under the rear window in a black camoflage cover (the car is red/black). The remote head is in a black box located in the lower dash above the shift console but below the gauges. The switch to activate was stolen from the small toggle switches located adjacent to the parking brake. It is quite hidden and stealty.

A friend of mine dis-assembled the rear view mirror, cut a hole in the plastic housing, scraped away the mirror coating and attached the rear display there. Looks very professional and you can hardly notice it.

I copied Jeff and mounted mine b/t the speedo and tach with velcro and soem padding on the back so it doesn't rattle or scratch the gauge bezzels.
This location works great --> you just need to take off the steering column cover (6 screws) and run the wire through the dash.
Robin - if the main unit is mounted so it is visible to the outside when it is on everyone can see it. With the remote unit the main unit remains black and isn't as visible.

I recently ordered the remote display unit for my V1, and after seeing it's bulk, I took it apart and discovered that the actual guts are really quite compact. I am planning to mount it in the tach by cutting out the face where the trip computer would normally be, and installing it there. I am looking for a replacement tach face that doesn't cost and arm and a leg(I have a C2S and couldn't bear cutting into the special edition face), and will post pics (if and) when I get it installed.
Perhaps if Steve has moved forward w/his project or he found problems w/it, he will give us an update.
