Danny,

i'm tempted.

I'm in the UK, so if there is anything I can do to help (such as check them for fit/finish etc) - give me a mail.

I'd be interested in a private mail anyway with trhe details of this place, as I know people in my other car club want some carbon parts made.

Cheers,
John. <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />

BTW, that carbon fan looks the dogs danglies - how much is it ??? <img src="graemlins/jumper.gif" border="0" alt="[jumper]" />

but your fabrications are what CF was designed for - saving weight w/o losing strength - awesome <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" /> </strong><hr></blockquote>

CF in most applications actually increases strength. Did you see Adrian Fernandez's accident? His carbon fiber/kevlar seat literally saved his life when another car punched a hole through his car.

DJ;

Being that you are spear heading this endeavor, do you want to start taking deposits. Lets get this rolling. Email me if you need some help.

Danny J - could you email me privately with the vendor's website address (dntee@yahoo.com)? Let us know how you want to handle deposits, etc.

TIA

John yes you can help!Maybe you can stop by there and see them or get in contact with them to check them out.

I do not really want to get involved in monetary exchanges, I will agree on a fixed price for all of us and then each of you can get your shipping charges separate. I will PM you all with their website as well. Also on my conditions for purchase with them it will be to see a sample of the product so to be sure of the quality. Maybe John or another rennlister from the UK can verify quality as well.

I will keep you posted.

If you can get a "Carrera" or maybe even "911" script, I'm in...

I'm in. I have a 993TT with factory CB interior, but stock rubber door sills. Would prefer "Turbo", but will go with the flow if everyone must get same lettering.
BTW, how do you get stock rubber sills off and install the new CB? Probably easy, but would like to know what's involved.

Danny J. - I assume that "Porsche" script would not be realistice b/c of copyright reasons? (Although I have a set of aftermarket stainless steel sills with "Porsche" on them). Otherwise "Carrera" script like the factory 996 pieces would be nice.

Okay Danny,
mail me direct with the info, and I'll see if they are local enough for me to visit.
If not it may be more suitable for another UK lister to check them out.

I am happy to go feel the goods as it were, and take digi pics too, if people prefer.

So, do they want money up front, or will they make them, then we pay for them ?

FYI, on previous group buys I've done I've collected names and contact details, and presented them to the company. Then, the individuals ring them to arrange payment and delivery.
It works okay this way, as no one gets stuffed if/when people back out.
You can also arrange a password, so then people quote the password and mention the group buy in order to get the discount.

Just let me know. My email address is in my profile...

Cheers,
John.

Hi John. I have sent you a private message with their website.

I have contacted them to tell them of the interest so the next step at least for them is for me to send a pair of door sills for them to do the mold and after that they will want deposits from all parties interested to start producing the pieces. If you can contact them and see what they are all about before I caugh up the muhla to buy a set to send them I would appreciate it. In fact maybe they can take the measurements from your car or another UK listers car so I dont have to send them the pair it would be better as well.
Like you I do not want to handle money as well people interested will contact them and make arrangements themselves.

Also I have lister Chris Walrod who is also interested to make the sills here in the US for us and I'm in contact with him as well. Actually I'm waiting on him to give me his final answer about the product so we can compare.

Regarding the script if we produce stensils it will not be difficult to make our own scripts like Carrera, Turbo, C4S etc. That will be an added cost ofcourse, but still I think we will end up with a nice pair much cheaper than the factory SS units.

I will keep you all posted with developments.
