Lots of words about things he doesn't understand but hears the pros talk about. Things like apexes and track out points.

Incident is a nice word...

SRF drivers don't have much to do on the straights since they are hp deprived, so I think the other guy saw some daisies growing on the side of the track that EJ was on and made way to get a closer view. EJ missed a shift due to focusing on the beautiful folliage and slowed enough to get in his way and he gave EJ a friendly push into the guardrail. This was on the front straight...

And in true HWFM spirit EJ did it will driving a friend's race car. Can't get any better than that...

I think there should be an award for the behavior that best exemplifies the team spirit. 3 spins in one race, all in the name of giving up positions when it if far less humiliating to simply point them by, warrants special merit.

BTW - In SRF, a pass is always an incident.

Congrats to EJ for keeping our colours flying hi! Get him the stickers for display asap!

Team leader I wish we could join the fun at Road Atlanta , we promise from the Houston Chapter of HWFM racing to show up for the team meeting at Putnam on September 21!! Our team car promptly painted in the teams colours of blue and yellow will display proudly the stickers on all corners so our race director will know not to assign us 13/13's due to our forthcoming spins and allmighty sloweness on the track

Greg and Mark

An excellent report Greg. We will have to toast his performance as well at the next team meeting.

Did you happen to hear what EJ said to the owner after the incident? That could become part of HWFM lore. Or at least we can start a file of handy excuses when you break something on an OPC.

Mark, maybe EJ was pointing two cars by and decided to use a different hand for each one - hence the spin.

Danny

I'll make sure someone has a digital camera to record the events for posterity.

Glad you'll be at Putnam. Perhaps that can be our annual convention if the Houston guys are going to be there as well.

But with the expected turnout at that race, Jeff may not be able to provide an umbrella girl for every driver.

Mike I forgot to mention (if it wasn't obvious) that EJ finished DFL. (That means DEAD F*&*ING LAST)

Ah, Road America! Think of all the opportunities for missed apexes, spins, etc. I'd love to be there, but as a left-coaster, it's a bit out of my area. Lift one for me!

Might as well make it two, or two dozen. It doesn't really matter. If EJ makes it to the podium it is probably only before the race while everyone else is getting ready...

Greg

Maybe we should have a team podium so each of us has a chance to have our picture taken on one.

Kim
I like the thought about a DFL nullifying a podium. Perhaps our team accountant, David, can keep track of those.

This is getting very involved. Penske has nothing on HWFM Racing

Mike,
Friday happens to be the Umbrella Girls Captains birthday. It looks like we will have at least two girls maybe more but no guarantees just yet. I know, I have been slacking a bit, but that is one of the HWFM Racing rules isn't it? I was thinking of a nice dinner somewhere, maybe even in Kohler????

I am also collecting air-sick bags from my next flights for her wrapping paper after the "Jerry" experience. If anyone can come up with some good gag gifts I would love to hear your ideas.

How about a nice, dainty bag from Victoria's Secret? You know - something fluffy in appearance, but practical in function. And, with a bit of perfume in the base, nothing but roses regardless of what gets deposited. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Looking forward to seeing "yous guys" (and gals).

Like that one Anir...Do they make scented balclavas? That might cover any residual orders from future events. Looks like dinner will be moved to Saturday. Anyone who would like to join just drop a line and I'll make some reservations.

Jeff,

You can count me in for Saturday dinner if you don't mind the third wheel. I know you'll order some good wine.

Unfortunately, my umbrella girl and the umbrella-ettes won't be coming.

I'm in for Saturday dinner, too.

May or may not have a spouse (and former umbrella girl) in tow.

Hopefully on Friday we will have an official posting of the team sticker at Siebkens.
