Thumbs up Al Reed Polishing

I had a bunch of nicks and curb rash on my 996TT wheels so I decided to get them polished.

I dropped them off exactly a week ago. Al took my wheels off, gave me some loaners to get back home, dismounted my tires, polished, remounted new tires I had drop shipped from Tire Rack and put them all back on my car.

Wheels look great on my 97 C4S. I won't post the cost because that isn't fair to Al but PM me if interested and I will let you know.

I am one (of many) satisfied customer.

Al polished the Fuchs on my 911 some fifteen years ago and they were perfect. Glad to hear he's still doing the great work!
Cheers to All....Robert

adscab911 - Where is Al Reed poliching located at? Also can you post pics of what the Poliched TT wheels look like as I was considering getting mine repaired with all the road rash and scratches and getting the polish look as well.

Al Reed is located in Orange County (I think Anaheim, but I'm not positive).

714- 632-3907 he has polished a set of the factory exhaust tips for my car, just have to get there and pick them up. i'll post a picture once I get my hands on them. Al does not have a website, by the way. If you do a search on the 911 forum, or the pelican 911 forum, there is a lot of feedback on his work. max

Al does excellent work. He reconditioned a semi-round set of Hayashi Racing wheels I bought for my '85 (well, they looked round at the swap meet) and also did a curb rash repair on wheels on this car. Don't let the shop scare you, it's the work that counts. He has been doing Porsche wheels since the 70s.

Al Reed is the best. He and his wife Diane, and some long time employees, run a fine operation in Anaheim, CA. In addition to wheel polishing, powder coating, disassembly, powder coat change and reassembly of BBS and other 3 piece wheels, Al's shop also does tire mounting and balancing. I had two sets of tires and wheels mounted and balanced late last year. The job was perfect.

I order tires from Tire Rack, ship them to Al Reed, and bingo, a perfect installation. It is a 130 mile round trip for me, but it is worth the time and trouble. This is one fine shop. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" />

I concur. I had one of my wheels repaired at Al’s. It had a curb rash (donated by a driving instructor, spinning off the track at a DE) that I thought was un-repairable. It looks like new. I don’t know how he did it.

He also gave me a loaner Boxster wheel to use while my wheel was in the shop. When my wheel was done, he let me take it home in my truck without returning the loaner wheel. No deposit, no signing for the loaner, nothing. I had to return home, swap my wheel with the loaner, and return the loaner the next day. Now that’s trust!
