Default 1st Track Day Today

I went to the Streets of Willow with the Redline Group today. There were only 3 Porsches but it was a very friendly group. Lots of Mini Coopers,Mustangs and Subarus and a few Hondas including Eyal and his friend in the Integra. I've still got Perma-Grin going - three hours after I left. Sorry no pics but maybe Eyal has some to post.

Good times and no serious incidents........a new slope to slide down

There was a superbike event going on next door at the big track and many of us witnessed a crash at over 100 mph (there were 2 in the same spot) They both walked away from them. Those guys are nuts!

Glad you and the car survived, but we need more details about how the beast performed, give us the juice, planting it out of the apex, hammering it down the straights, lets hear the details.

seege, congrats on your first track day! I really think that every P-car owner owes it to themself (and their cars) to go out on the track at least once. There's no better way to safely explore the limits of the car, even if you're not pushing things. Most people will want to go again and again, which makes me wonder if the following quote is one that I've heard somewhere or if it just popped into my head:

Life is what happens between track days.

Keep us posted on your future days, and have fun!!!!

Fred
The car was Very fast and I was hanging on tight. I think the tires were spinning out of the apex more than they were planting. I can blame Viperbob for that. Your turn next.

I think I'm going again next week Skip.

Seege,

Nice meeting you for the ride to the German Autofest. I recommend that you make your next event (or the one after that) the "rumble" that I've helped setup at Buttonwillow. Oct 1 -> 3 (Friday, Sat, Sunday; or any combo of days you want). Many of the Rennlisters are staying at the Super 8, but the high rollers are staying somewhere over near Bakersfield. Vipebob and a number of Norcal guys are coming down for this event. It is going to be a hoot.

Seege, I can only imagine having a first track day with your beast and that much power. I've only just started getting used to more power, and I havent even had the turbos done yet!

Way to go CJ.... Glad you had a good time and the car performed well. It'll be good to see you and Austin (the dog) at Buttonwillow...

Seege,
Congrats! There is nothing like it. I have Pocono next weekend then the new track at Summit Point next month. The sad part for me is winter will be here too soon.

I probably don't have it exactly right, but Steve McQueen has a line in Le Mans that goes something like:

Life *is* racing. Everything else is just waiting.
