Weight chart for C2 vs C2S vs C4S vs Targa?
Does anyone have, or not where to access the curb weights for the 993 (96-98) in the various trims? I am curious how much the weight difference truly is between these models...I suspect maybe less than one would think...

Okay, here goes...
These come from a book called "Porsche 911 Buyer's Guide" by Randy Leffingwell. I can't vouch for how he came by his information, but it seems to be about right.
1995
C2 and cab: 3064
C4: 3,175
1996
C2: 3064
C4S: 3065
Targa: 3130
Turbo: 3307
1997
C2: 3064
C4S: 3197
Targa: 3130
Turbo, Turbo S: 3307
1998
C2S: 3064
C4S: 3197
Targa: 3130
For 1995 through 1997, add 56 lbs for tiptronic. For 1998, add 64 lbs.
Happy continued hunting.

They're definitely not all correct. The AWD of the C4 adds about 100 lbs, so a '96 C4S certainly does not weigh just 1 lb more than a C2, nor 110 lbs LESS than a C4 -- the wider body ADDS weight.

Just for fun and frolic, let's try this again, this time with the official data from the official owner's manual from my '97 C2. As expected, there is a bit more variation for the S variants, as several of you point out. However, the basic numbers, at least for 1997, are as I posted above ... not to say that they are right in the real world, but this is what Porsche claims. And yes, the 1996 figures may have simply been incorrect, but I can't verify them. As they say, your mileage may vary ... and don't shoot the messenger.
For 1997:
C2: 3064 (3120 with tip; difference of 56 lbs)
C2S: 3086 (3142 with tip ...)
C4: 3175
C4S: 3197
Targa: 3130 (3186 with tip ...)
Turbo: 3307
So Porsche says that the S package adds 22 lbs, and AWD adds 111 lbs. Oddly, my manual contains no separate weight figure for the cab, which I've got to believe is something different.
Whatever the actual numbers are, I'm know many of you have figured out ways to reduce them.

Interesting. My 95 C2 (RUF BTR) weights in at 2,994# with full tank of gas when it was on the scales during corner balancing. If stock was 3,064#, then it was not a huge improvement. Well, 70# is still 70#s.
To be honest, I thought the C2 weights 3,120#. Turns out that was with Tips.

Hmmm, that means that there is only a 66 lb difference between my Targa and a coupe...which it less than the difference between a full and empty tank of gas...that eliminates the perpetual "the Targa is heavy" arguement I guess ! ;-)
Of course there is always the "The Targa carries its weight up high" arguement. I wonder with the glass top down behind the back window would the Targa's center of gravity be lower than a coupe with a sunroof? Not sure how to measure that anyways..LOL
Cheers,
Mike

CP,
I'm pretty sure there is no 3064 lbs 993 out there (as a stock car that is).
That figure is without a single option, 16" wheels, no a/c, no extra speakers, no sunroof etc. etc, you get the picture.
Probably in Europe there were cars like that but in states, can't be more than handful.
My 1995 993 Coupe was about 3125 lbs before it went on a "diet" and only had sunroof, A/C, Sport Seats, 17" wheels and hi-fi options.
Boris,
Did you scale that figure & was it DIN weight (with tank full)?
