I've been thinking about it (with ducktail too!) but haven't had the nerve yet (ductail part).
My car is red and that why I decided not to do it but if my 993 was white...
Think about it, white 993 with RS front splitters, ductail (if not bold enough, RS wing), no side skirts and red or blue Carrera stripes & those BBS 'old RS look' wheels (or 993 RS wheels) with spokes painted to match stripes.
When I'm imaging this, it looks pretty damn awesome!

I have a black 993 narrow and I'm thinking of silver "Carrera" script and front/rear bumper stripes (not sure the path on those yet) and supercup front splitters and Euro RS tail. Ducktail would be cool, hadn't thought of it. Of course 993 RS 3 piece wheels.

I've seen a 993 RS on the track - white with red "Carrera RS Clubsport" on the side in the correct fonts.
Its personal taste but for me, the decals belong to a different car and era - the '73 2.7RS - to my mind, they dont look right on a 993 but its horses for courses etc etc.
Ajit.

Get someone to PHOTOSHOP the script onto a pic of your car, to get an idea what it would look like. Sorry, but i don't have this capability. A couple wks ago, on PelicanParts.com 911 bulletin board, guys were photoshoping Carrera scripts on pics, and it looks great.

Interesting Finn,
Can you carry the stripe along the front and back bumper like the 2.7 RS? Also I like the ducktail but am I correct to assume this is a custom part? After all the ducktail lid from the earlier cars should not fit the 993 opening or am I incorrect on this assumption?

side pic but its b/w
The pics are scanned from a Japanese published Porsche magazine. Unfortunately, I can't read Japanese, so I have no idea whether the ducktail is custom-made or an original.

JC,
I'll do that, but I have to do it after work (no time for that now).
You're correct, ducktail w/ old engine lid won't fit. I guess, one would have to get fiberglass 993 engine lid and have some of those aftermarket companies to add spoiler to it. Looks very tempting...
Like I said, if my car was white, I'd do it, now I'm thinking of it...

Finn,
I'll say go for it, it will definitely raise your car's status among other "un-tailed" 993s. I have a 1990 C4 and also thinking of adding a ducktail to my car. But, since buying a factory original tail is out of the question and budget, which company do you suggest looking into to source one?
