Question PSS9 Problem

My PSS9 coil overs have been on my 993 for a couple of years and they have started to rattle. The front top portion of the coil overs are loose and rattle and the springs sometime make a boing type noise. Any suggestions?

Try checking the tightness of the topnut.

This is a thin roller bearing that is sandwiched between 2 steel shim. It sits under the front spring (which is 60mm in a PSS9 set) then and allows smooth movement of the spring in the shock when the wheel is turned without the boing effect... This is common in older sets where some level of corrosion has come in, and in more race applications with very high spring rates.

Jim,
I am not sure what the cure might be but am willing to take a look with you. Maybe we can confirm the previous diagnosis. I have a lift and we can easily toss the car up and take a look. I also have PSS9's on my C4S. If you would like to get together let me know. PM me.

You can see the bearing installed at the bottom of the spring on the previous link.
