So, snow and ice are gone even in cold Estonia and I took my car out from garage.
Damn, its good. First 10 kilometers all 4 wheels vibrated like hell. Then they warmed up ant took original o-shape
So, as it is mentioned in my signature, I am lucky TPC supercharger owner. Runs just fine and produces soooo good torque and power (at 0,4-0,5 bar). I am quite convinced that my car's acceleration is 4,5-4,9 seconds 0-100 km/h (0-60 mph). TPC promised 380 HP. I have LSD and ABD and NO AC! This saves weight and adds some power (or doesn't waste power).
My friend has 996 turbo and we went playing with our cars last Friday. Did some takeoffs from traffic light to traffic light (night time, empty streets). You possibly don't believe, but few times I was quicker, mostly quite close. One reason is weight. My car is ca 1360 kg-s and 996 turbo is massive 1610 kg-s (that means extra 250 kilos = 550 lbs!!!). 993 TT technical paper says 4,2 sec 0-100 km/h.

Guys-thanks for the info. I too am considering this mod and could very well do it this summer. The ongoing TPC updates on this forum has been great!

Jack,

how come you have a boost gauge insted of the original clock?
I remember somebody mentioning that it was not possible due to all the control lights that are installed in the clock device.
Please give us some more info on this.
It looks fantastic.

Jack,
I have been looking for a boost gauge to replace my clock that is back-lit like the rest of our gauges. All I have found is halo-lit like the pre 964 cars.

Hi everyone

Autobahn: Yeah, control indicators. Original clock is full of lamps, most of them useless (belt tension in the case of TPC), airbag. Generator lamp was re-directed to 4wd place in tach or oil gauge (don't remember). Shortly -- doable!

DJF1: Hello to Texas! Yes, It's very factory look. I a fact one Porsche-specialized Internet shop sold. I ordered it about 18 months back and just at that time this outlet was merged with http://www.performanceproducts.com , who actually delivered the stuff. Vacuum line didn't come (they charged!!!) so my mechanic had extra work to do. I checked, they don't have this gauge in Performance Products anymore. Still, other tuning shops still sell them Interesting, that TPS hasn't in stock!

JW in Texas: First of all -- great State. Few years ago stayed in Houston Texas some 2 weeks. Rented a dull Ford and drove down to Galveston, Corpus Christi, Victoria and back by smallest roads available.
Back to topic: My gauge is also lighted not exactly like factory. Day time is no difference but night time it is not so beautifully lit than orig. gauges. Still, doesn't bother. There are several versions of boost gauges. Take 1 or 1,5 bar max in the case of TPC supercharger, as max boost is 0,5 bar.

Thanks Jack. I was afraid of that. I'm only running .5 or so too. I'll probably stay with a a small one mounted in my console bin. Thanks,
Jay
