Post Opinion on new '95 993 nose

Dumbass did a U turn in front of me.
Car in the shop.
About to order a new nose.
1995 993 C2 Cab, Iris Blue Metallic / Cashmere int.
Question: Considering getting a different nose for the car...do you think it would look stupid to have a turbo nose and not the turbo wing? Car pretty stock otherwise...just considering my options with the upcoming nose surgery...

Opinions?

JPS,

I have seen several out there that I think look nice. However, I'd be careful about putting in an agressive front. You may find that you are bottoming out everywhere. The two places I would recommend are http://www.rennsport.com and http://www.techart.de

If you want a slightly more agressive look put the splitters on. i think they look real nice.

Turbo nose will fit just fine, if that is what you want. All street 993's noses are interchangeable.

Yeah...I figure it will fit,
I'm just looking for some added opinions on how it would look w/o the rest of the turbo body kit, as well as how unpure I'm getting putting a nose that technically wasn't available until 96 on a 95 car...thoughts???

Eh, I'd go for it. I've always preferred the turbo front air dam to the narrow-body 993. In your position I'd do it.

Regarding the "purity", as long as you like the way it looks, it doesn't matter. If you were to ever sell the car and the new owner wanted stock, he could sell/trade the turbo front bumper, get a stock one, and probably come out ahead in the deal.

Just my $.02... Either way I'm sure you'll be glad to have your car back from the shop!

Well, how would all those C4S owners feel?...

I think a turbo nose on a narrow-body cab would look just fine. It's all about personal taste when it comes to cosmetics.

BTW, mine was changed to a Euro turbo nose.
I'd say, go for it.

Hope you get your baby back soon...

for a narrow body, have you thought about a RS front?

The turbo nose looks perfectly correct on a narrow body 1995 993. I installed the European bumper cover that eliminates the useless and ugly bumper blocks.

JS, If I remember correctly, you're in the SF Bay area. You're welcome to come see my car any time. I have the Euro turbo fron bumper cover (and Euro narrow rear). I also happen to have a twin to your car - a '95 iris blue cabriolet. It won't take much imagination to figure how it would look on your car!

If I get a chance, I'll take a photo or two (but don't hold your breath, I'm swamped at work).

I just went through the same dilemma - my car is in the shop awaiting my new nose (and tail) pieces. I decided to get the Euro Turbo nose (95 C2 narrow body) and the Euro rear bumper. I came THIS CLOSE to going with the RS splitters. After seeing Kai's pic, I'm wondering if I should have gone with the RS look! Alas, Gert is sending the TT's as we speak, and I won't bother him any more with my indecisiveness. It's a nice problem to have - any time I have that difficult of a time trying to decide on something, I know I can't lose either way. Both look incredibly good. I just hope Gert can find another Turbo S intake for me!

Thanks for the input thus far...still interested in what other people think too...but for those who responded or others who know...how much clearance am I losing if I go to the C4/Turbo nose? Looks like not too much lower, maybe, but out more in front (thinking about scraping on driveways and such)...thoughts?

BTW, anyone in a similar dilemma...factory C2 nose = about $1280, C4/Turbo = about $1400, so not too much difference...

Also, yeah, I'm in the Bay Area...might take you up on that offer to see...in the meantime...if you do swim out of the swamp...a pic or two would be great...might help my wife understand why I'm monkeying around with this at all...
