Question Alignment question

OK, Got to thinking about my tire wear issue (see thread: Uneven Rear Tire Wear - C4 )

To get a perfect result , does an alignment have to be done with the rims and tires that will remain on the car?

When I took the car in to have my new tires and alignment done, we found out that both rear rims were cracked. Both where send out to be repaired. Now, did the alignment get done with another set of rims and tires to save time, rather than wait for mine to return? Or, did they wait for my set to return, and then do the alignment with my set on the car? I don't know which scenario was done.

Does it matter? Would that effect the alignment? If my rims wern't used to align the car, could that have something to do with my camber/toe issue?

TIA.

I would think the correct way would be to do the alignment when the wheels come back(?). Did you have another set of wheels while the set was sent back? I would think the alignment would be incorrect it were done with a different set?

If they did do the alignment with another set of tires and rims, they would be a set they would have had at the shop. They do alot of racing and repairs so it would be likely they had another set.

I don't know that this was the case, I just wanted to know for ammo.

If they are the same size wheel and done with newish tires it should not make any difference.

I think you will be fine with another set of wheels as long as they are true and not all bent.
