Angry Uneven Rear Tire Wear - C4

I am guessing Kinematic Toe, but not sure.

Backround:
-New tires and full alignment including Kinematic Toe 5K miles ago.
-No Track use
-18" Kuhmo 712's, 265/35
-PSS9's, RS Sways and rear set in the middle position (3 holes)
-Car is lowered, 25 3/16" from floor to lip
-Front tire wear even and looks like 5K miles, plenty of tread left

I just noticeded that both rears are worn on the inside, from each inside edge in about 1-2"'s, then the rest of the tread looks OK.

My independant did mention he does the Kinematic Toe and has the correct equipment. Everyone that knows him says he knows what he is doing. I told him to align the car for mostly street with maybe 2-3 DE's a year. So off he went to mount 4 new tires and align. He did say how screwed up my alignment was, so I figured he's got it correct now. My PO had the car track aligned and the front inside's were down to the bands prior to taking it in this time. I didn;t get any alignment sheet so I can't post any specs. I thought this was odd I didn't get one, but....I forgot about it until the next day.

Here is a pic. Hope it shows the inside edge OK.

I used to get bad tire wear as well. In particular with the insides of my rear tires, especially the passenger side (???). A proper alignment fixed the problem. Haven't had any issues since.

Looks like a camber issue to me. Just make sure to get an alignment. I would not assume that he automatically did an alignment. Kinematic toe should not cause this problem.

Excessive negative camber is what typically causes this.

Evan,

This is not Kinematic Toe; it definitely looks like lots of negative camber, ... or perhaps can be incorrect/excessive toe. You told him to set up for "mostly street with maybe 2-3 DE's a year," so what did he set the rear camber to? FWIW, I've got -1.75 at the rears and over 5K on new tires (Kumho MXs) and they look almost new, even on the inside. If he's as good as everyone says, he should have no problem with you coming back and putting it on the rack to re-check his settings.

Thanks to all. I'll check with my indy and see what becomes of this.

BTW - I forgot to mention I am running 42lbs in the rear.

Hey Bill - Nice to finally meet you as well. It's always a blast around that many P Cars.

I have to take the car back into Dan and see what he thinks.

BTW - my rears were set at -1.6

Evan, He's The Man.......at least for me. Did he do the job originally?
In 3+ years and quite a few $$ I've Never had a problem w/ anything he's touched.

I'm sure it'll work out, just a hassle to have to make the trip...again.
Perhaps we'll bump into each other, I've got to get my car up there the end of the week for Road America.
