Thumbs up Do you feel lucky? I do...

I recently took a long road trip outside of my familiar territory
for the fun of it. When returning home within about two miles,
I heard a squeal sound corresponding to revs and throttle blips.
I pulled over and found nothing wrong. I continued home and
heard a few more squeals and thought it could be a belt slipping.
When I pulled into the garage, a terrible burning rubber smell
was present. I re-checked the engine and found the newer
alternator belt hanging by threads...

I realized that my luck goes beyond this mechanical incident...
I'm very lucky to own some of these great P-cars and this is only
possible because I was born and raised in this great country!
Our brave superhuman soldiers are fighting hard to protect us and
our rights as well as protecting the rights of people in other countries.
Throughout the years their service has brought this nation to it's
level of prosperity preserving our democracy and freedom.
My heart pours out with great gratitude for the men and women
who have served and are currently serving with our armed forces.
We all should take a step back and see the bigger picture...
We all are very lucky to live in this great country...

All the best,

Time to replace the alternator belt. Luckily, the earlier you discovered it, the better.

David,

I too once had a belt incident happen to me about 1/4 away from the office.

Loud squeal, I decided just to drive it to the office for the rest of the way.

Big cloud of smoke came up from the engine bay when I arrived.

The slipperage created so much heat the belt was formed to a fixed shape after it was cooled.

I had to junk both the belt and the pulley.

This reminds me that I need to pick up a belt to keep in my trunk for emergencies...does anyone happen to have the part # onhand?

TIA
