Hey Graham,

Are you still in Australia? Or safely at home in Sweden?

Ok! I'm back,
it's been too long without a Porsche and I can't stand it anymore.

The big question is, after all the problems I had with my 993... do I dare buying another Porsche?
Could anyone enlighten me with the current situation on the 996 RMS issue, or any new issues to look out for?

I haven't been so active browsing these forums the last years but it seems like I'm back on track.
Looking for a '99 996

99 996? At least go with a 2002 just to be on the safe side. 2002 996s gave Porsche a couple years to figure out some of the major bugs. 1st generation cars are always a head-ache waiting to happen if you ask me. Especially a H20 911.

Default Start another thread

I think you may get more/better responses if you started a new thread here (and in the 996 forum) with a topic that relates to your current question.

Hello,

This thread is alive for an update

About 14 years ago I bought this problematic 993 by Miraculix after following his thread on both the Swedish website and here at Rennlist. The price was very attractive and because so many parts were already exchanged, I hoped the error was "cheap".

After thorough analysis and a lot of testing, I managed with the help of "Firren" to find the fault in the broken immobilizer. After the solution to switch past the immobilizer, the car has worked 100%. And best of all, it was a cheap fix

I have owned 7 different 911's (from 1970´s - 2000´s). I still have this one and it will probably never be sold. I love it!
After 14 years it is now almost an 993 RS/R with all the right parts as like: Supercup (Motorsport) engine, genuine RS seats, genuine RS Speedline wheels, new chassi with RS/GT2 wheelcarriers, RS swaybars, RS wing, RS flywheel & clutch, cage, and more.......

Attaches photos from this past weekend.

For information:
Since 2004, I have managed to help a number of 993 owners around the world with the same problem.
