mnmblu,
So three is better than two? One and a half times as much?

Al,
Do you also have to wait 12 hours after the second time?

I like more of everything

In this case, two coats seems to be the general opinion. I put two on and don't even think I will try three. What's the point! After all, I don't want to cause any accidents due to blinding on-coming traffic

Oh, and Phil, at my age 12 hours is just about right!

Phil

That (waiting twelve hours) is my understanding of what they recommend. There are a few recent threads on this. As it turns out, if I can get the wax stripped today I will have plenty of time. Not as bad as predicted in Florida, but we are supposed to have a very wet front come through this afternoon through tomorrow, followed by the remnants of a tropical storm tomorrow night and Saturday followed by the remnants of a Hurricane on Sunday. Great weekend to work on the car in the garage!

Al,
I think that because of the current worldwide distribution of Rejex to Rennlist members, we have bad weather everywhere. It is currently raining here, so I am about to put on the second coat...

Phil

Sounds like a valid theory to me!

Happy shining!

I mostly use car washes due to having to park my car on an inner city street; you'd look very odd with a bucket and sponge washing your car in the street here! I only use the ones without nylon burshes, they seem to have ones with sponge brushes now ant they are fine for the paint, also £10 gets you a hand wash, which is usually quite good. I do wax my car about 4 times a year when I go and see my family in a more rural area. I will give the rejeX stuff a go when it arrives.

The new clays in the market are a significant improvement over the once developed just a few years ago. Very tough to damage your paint. Just remember to knead your clay often, use a lubricant (soap solution works well, though I use the stuff formulated for claying - haven’t found a difference yet), and don't drop it on the ground. If you drop the clay on the ground, it may look fine but will probably pick up small debris that may scratch your paint.

Alex,

Thanks-I bought the Mothers clay and detailer kit and have the Autopia instructions-and plenty of time.

Unfortunately, my 993 cab sits in the driveway every night and by day only 100 yards from the interstate.
So it's mandatory, for me, to follow this ritual... clay and wax every other month...Mequire's Gold Class Wax every 3 weeks...nightly wipe down with Meguires Quick Detailer, before cover goes on...wheel wash every Saturday or Sunday...pretty therapeutic, actually...
