Ack, yeah I just realized there was a PCA discount on parts after my purchase .
Got the heater bypass in yesterday though .

Could this happen due to a failing high temperature sensor not turning on the electric fan to cool the engine if needed after shutdown? This part is in the highest spot where all the hot air would rise to and possibly cause it to soften or melt.
Have any of you to whom this happenned ever noticed if your fan turns on after shutdown under hot conditions?

I know mine has in the past, but don't know that I've heard it lately -- I'll keep an ear out for it.
