Default Respected independent Porsche service facilities in Miami area?

For Porsche dealerships, I know of Braman and Champion Porsche. What about popular independent shops? That is really what I'm looking for...

Please list any you know of and the location (e.g., Miami, W. Palm Beach, etc.).

Thank you,

Pete.

Hey Pete-

I live in Boca and was turned on to a guy named Jay Putnam, (Jay Putnam Engineering). Jay has been working on Porsches for +/- 25 years and is in Pompano Beach. His # is 954-560-3175.

He has a day job but does Porsche repair on nights and weekends. I have not used him yet but I will tell you that I called and spoke to him about needing a 60K service on my C4S.

He kept me on the phone for 20 minutes asking me a million questions. He asked me to photocopy every record that I have for my car so that he could review them and get a good understanding of what the PO's had done to the car.

I was very impressed by his approach and will be using him soon. He came reccommended to my by another Rennlister who told me that he would never let anyone other than Jay touch his car.

Try "Foreign Affairs" when I lived in Boca I went to them all the time.
Those guys were great, and reasonable.
I think they’ve been in business for 20 yrs. the owner's name is Bob.

BUMPing this 15 year old thread…

Any updates re: Fort Lauderdale area independent shops?

-Jay Putnam Engineering?
-Foreign Affairs?
-JCM Performance?
-Gulf Performance?

Don’t mind driving down to Miami or up to West Palm either if there’s a unanimous favorite…

I use Scott Finlay in South Miami. Pricey but worth it so far. He always takes the time to explain exactly what he's going to do and why he's going to do it. As a new 993 owner, I really appreciate it.

Gulf Performance has closed. The owner, Vinnie Colosino, sadly passed away after a battle with cancer. Vinnie was one of a kind and a great asset to the community. He is greatly missed.

KMW in Boca and Scott Finlay in Miami are excellent.
