Good Independent Service shop for 993?
Any recommendations for good Independent Service shop for 993 in the San Fernando Valley area (Los Angeles California)? I've heard about the NARW (North American Racing Werks) in Reseda, are they any good? I'm interested in getting the 30Kmaintennance service done and I don't want to pay the local dealership prices. Thanks.

Others beat me to it. TRE is excellent, and Dave there is a first-class guy! Werks II is also a good shop, though can get a bit busy. I, personally, would avoid NARW as I did not have a postive experience with them, FWIW.
Hey, Martin, long time no hear.

I have moved my car to www.schatzmotorsport.com a bit of a drive from the SFV but well worth it for the service and price. Just had a 90K service done for half the cost of the dealer.

I've contacted TRE and talked to David (nice guy), and he quoted me $1065 for the 30K service(plugs, air/pollen/2 oil filters, brake fluid flush) and an additional $160~$180 for the Tip service if I wanted. I know it's a lot of money (I wish I had tools and skills like you folks out there but compared to a local dealership it was about 25% less. I think I'll try TRE and they are very close, only 3 miles away. You guys are great! Thanks!

I agree that Dave is a nice and knowlegable guy but that sounds high. I paid a lot less for my 90k service including the Tip service, you may want to check around.

I am not sure about the L.A. porsche dealerships but here in san Diego they offer a 10% discount on the any service if you are a PCA member. I had the 30K service done for $930 at a delaership. I wish I to had the time to do the service myself! Just a thought.
