All,

Have many of you installed any of the aftermarket storage/armrests made for the 993. There are a couple advertised and I was wondering what your experiences have been and whether you would recommend it or not.

There is an earlier thread about the Bird product. I have one and love it, I know others hate it.

I like the storage, thow I find the cup holder to be awkward.

I took a look at the archives and have a followup question or two.

Has anyone out there bought one to match their grey interior? How well did it match?

Would you guys recommend buying the matching grey or going with the Black.

 

I have the dual cup holder that replaces the cassette tray. It’s OK, not great. It holds my coffee on those early morning drives to local autocrosses. The cup is right where your elbow is, and you can hit it with your elbow when you shift if you’re not careful. You have to twist your arm in a weird angle to get your cup out. It would be worse for the passenger, as their holder is further back (I’ve never used that holder). Once, the light changed on me all of a sudden and I hit the brakes medium hard, and the cup fell forward out of the holder and spilled hot coffee all over the console. PIA.

 

I would definitley get the matching color.
