Randall,
The inside bottom of your wheels look very very dirty...That type of thing is really not allowed on the "true"993 board! we have no sense of humor! and we are very uptight.

Hey Phil,

Yes, even with the disclaimer, posting those dirty pictures was wrong. Especially considering the context (the 993 board).

LOL!

David--wow, you're either lucky or really good. Took me about 2 hours on each side to remove enough glue to get the new sills to sit flat, with hair dryer and copious amount of 3m adhesive remover. Even being careful I scratched the paint while scraping--not terribly torn up about it, I just used a little touch up paint since no one will be looking under the sills.

I had to replace my door seals anyway so I did the sills at the same time. This made it a little easier for sill placement. Removing the seal adhesive was actually tougher than removing the sill adhesive. For the sill tape/adhesive left behind, I used mineral spirits and a plastic spatula with good edge from the kitchen. My wife hasn't noticed it missing yet...

While carefully removing the adhesive is a minor PITA, the result is worth the effort. I'm not sure about the de-valuing thing, though. If a potential buyer balked at well-made stainless sills, you could always put the crappy stock PVC ones back on. You don't destroy them taking them off like you would stainless sills.

As always, YMMV.

Ditto,

It took me about that amount of time to complete the job.

I just finished installing a set of these door sills and I think they look great. The picture attached doesn't do it justice. I must learn how to take better photo's! They word looks bronze in the picture but it is really shiny stainless steel (and plenty heavy gauge).

The spots on the concrete are sweat from the hours removing the old adhesive - not much fun, nor good for my old back!

Worth it now it's done.

If you are still looking for sills try Prestige Parts . No relation, but I got some nice SS sills for my 944 from them.

Might be good to start a fresh thread that specifically addresses your topic.

do an ebay search for Porsche stainless door sills. I forget the gentlemans member name, but his first name is Harvey IIRC. A class act, with a great product...at a great price. You can get factory looking lettering, standard black lettering over stainless, or black with stainless.

Pics of "negitive" image sill below, I apparently deleated the pic of the stainless with black lettering. I ordered one set of each to decide, they were about $55 a set. OEM fit and finish, very easy application.

He doesn't always have items listed, only when he has the stainless stock.

as I did,it doesn't work.no reply or anything found....
I was wondering if any of you had a suggestion or other.

starting another tread was an option,I thought about it....than said to myself....I'm kind of frustrated to see so many trd about the same thing,I get lost....
but as you all know,is like dealing with women, you always end-up doing the other way!
Anyway I'm open to suggestion or offers....
cheers
