Does anyone know how much the central locking module costs?
Based on a search of the archives, I believe that my central locking module under the seat has gone bad.
The symptoms are that the car will not lock either from the dash button or the remote. However, the drive block still works.
Does anyone know how much these cost or where to get one used?
TIA

I replaced one as the interior lights would not go out...it was something like $850 for the part! Labor was a bunch for the diagnosis and not so much for the install.

Are you sure that's the part #? When I plug it in the Pelican parts search, it doesn't come up w/ anything.

So I guess you've found out the price of the module, eh?
You might try some other online places to see if their prices are a bit better.
Good luck... hope that fixes your problem.

I bought one from a rennlister about a year ago for $70 IIRC. Seems like LA Dismantler's wanted ~80-90. Check your part number on the unit and match as IIRC there is a compatibillity issue. You can forward date, but can't back date.
Hope this helps,
Jeff N.

yes indeed.. the 95 unit ends in 02 instead of 03 and I'm guessing it isn't compatible.. I've left a message with LA Dismantlers but have not heard anything back yet...

Those units are very reliable except when:
1. getting flooded by cab top/Targa leaks or bad windshield seals
2. getting over-voltaged by booster battery chargers
Bottom line: Don't "throw-darts" to determine a problem source. ECUs are expensive.
