I just spoke to a "non-racer" tpe who recently took it and was raving about it; said it'd be worthwhile at even twice the price (!!)
Has anyone here gone through this; specifically the one day course.
Opinions?
Thanks,
Luis

I did the two-day course at Road Atlanta. So much of the first day is chewed up with classroom time & the four or five structured exercises, that your on-track lapping is ~fairly~ limited. The second day is nothing but lapping, lead/follow, one instructor leading five students. (There are several groups out simultaneously).
I'd feel kind of cheated if I'd've only done the one day course.

I am also interested in the PDE. Do one-day and two-day really have the same Agenda of day-one? If they are the same, and the second day of two-day class are mainly tracking. I should go for two-day. I noticed that one-day and two-day are set for different days. <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />

did it almost 2 years ago. my opinion:
1. i second Robert's thoughts regarding the 1-day program. i did the 2 day...
2. its well organized for newbies who've never been on a track before (i'm in that category). not having cars wizzing by was probably a security blanket.
3. the instructors are high quality and porsche supplies everything (car, helmet).
its not inexpensive - $ 2k+ and another $ 1k (i think) for the liabilty waiver (i think almost everyone takes that; i know i did).
hope this helps.

I paid something like $100/day (*maybe* it was $200/day) to reduce the insurance deductible from $10k to $2k. Money well spent. At the time I was there, there was no option to completely eliminate the insurance deductible in case you cracked up the car they loaned you.

I'll second Kim's response.
Another option is a dozen or so PCA drivers ed events, plus two sets of Khumos, plus brakes for about the same $$. Many of the teachers will be of a higher caliber at some of the other schools, but nothing beats seat time.
