OT: Bad 993 conversion
I always get a kick out of looking at these "993" conversions on ebay..

It looks like a great deal and, most likely, a carefully driven example. I mean, the owner stopped driving it just before it turned over 100,000 miles! He definitely knows how to preserve the value of a Porsche...

Hmmmm ... I count at least 3 models: '74, 964 rear end, 993 headlights. Now, add the 3.0 or 3.2L engine for $5k (no problem), and that makes 4 models.
The e-bay add says the car has the 993 6-speed shifter, but a 5-speed transmission. Now, I'm imagining what happens when this car is loaned to a friend or left at the shop, with the driver flailing away at the shifter, trying to shift into 6th gear.
Isn't reverse to the right on a 915 transmission, below 5th--right where 6th gear is on a 993 6-speed? Yeow! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" />

His ad says he added a 6-speed shifter, but then later says it has a 5-speed gearbox. Maybe its a 5-speed with a 6-speed ****? That'll fool those valets!

WOW! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> She is a creampuff! I put mine on there to see what the market would bare. The market is way down. I would like to sell it and see if I can find a Twin Turbo for a decent price. My wife has a bun in the oven I believe
