I'll be going to my first DE in April (Thunder Hill/Unlimited Laps). My 993 currently has Bridgestone SO-2's in front and Michelin Pilot Sports in the back (the car came that way...).
Do those of you with much more experience than I think this is a workable set-up for a first time novice. Or, will the differences between the tires cause me to have a miserable time?
i.e. Should I spring for a new pair of tires, or can I use up the tires I know have--mismatch and all?--After the Pss-9's the kitty is pretty low...
Cheers,
Chris
No brainer...2 tires far cheaper than new quarter panels and mechanicals. You do realize there is an inherent risk in DEs--do you really want to add to that risk?
Of course, two fronts would be cheaper than two rears.....
Coincidentally, I looked at a new Boxster S on 18s at my OPC today, the Mich Pilot Sport N1s on it looked to have a lot of tread on the ground for the size (225/265). Have liked them on other cars......
