Default Varioram, timing belt, ect??

Hi I am new to this forum but not to Rennlist. Do 993 require timing belt changes? If so at what interval? Also what is a varioram?? - Thanks!

Welcome to the 993 board!

No timing belt changes here. The cams are chain driven and have hydraulic tensioners. The VarioRam is a three-stage induction plenum. There is a modest gain in mid-range torque. Note that only the 96- cars had the Varioram, the earlier cars had the 964 two-stage resonance induction system. The DME controls the length of the intake runners depending on RPM to maximize power. Not to be confused with the "VarioCam" on the later water-pumpers...

There is a lot of info on p-car.com about 993s.... enjoy!
