I installed Fabspeed 200 cell cats and Fister stage 3 mufflers on my RS this past weekend. It’s really quite loud now… almost too loud.

Maybe this could be a good choice?

That was my choice, but no smog checks here

For a merged cat system that's pretty decent, at least the gasses appear to be just brushing by each other and not smashing head on.

@Bill Verburg , what would you do if you were in my position? 😁
1. Cross pipe?
2. Cross pipe + modification of the OEM muffler?
3. Replacing the OEM catalytic converters with 100 CPSI cores + modification of the OEM muffler?
4. A complete system with headers from Cargraphic?
What matters to me? Improved sound and, of course, a power increase.
Thanks a lot for your advice 👍

If there are no smog checks and it's an OBD 1 993 then the separated cat bypass

If there are smog checks it depends on whether it's a visual or actual sniffer test and how stringent they are

for a competent visual you need all the stock components

for a cursory sniffer 100 cell , if it's a little more stringent 200cell

headers don't really add a lot to the program over stock heater boxes on a 993 and they are expensive

That said sometimes they are necessary for one reason or another, I use cat-lass Fabspeed on my 911 w/ 993 motor because that's' the only one that I've found that works well in all the areas I'm concerned w/

@Bill Verburg Thank you for your response. The car was built in 07.1995.
I looked at it from underneath, but I didn’t pay attention.

There will be no emissions inspections.

So, what would you choose?

should be OBD1
to double check look for a single O sensor in the center of the cat

OBD2 will have 4 of them, 2 on each side, 1 before the cat 1 after the cat

if OBD1 then

Same thing as above but w/ cats, depending on the local legislation it might or might not be ok, If there are no local legal restrictions then yes, goodI (if somewhat restricted) flow and sweet air quality.

That Dansk sport cat setup is excellent. I alternate back and forth between that and stock, just depending on how loud I can tolerate at any given point. I’m running the LPMM bypass mod on stock mufflers (a simple bypass pipe) so that sport cat setup is too loud for family drives, but would be fine with stock mufflers.

Really? Are you able to compare it to the more common mufflers; like stock vs Fister I, II, III? Like are these sport cats with stock mufflers the same as Fister I, or are we skipping straight to Fister II? I would think, even with stock mufflers there would be some power gains felt. I was thinking these sport cats and Fister II would get me about a Fister III volume.

My LPMM is the same as Fister I (afaik), so to paraphrase my above comment, the Dansk 100 cell with Fister I is perfectly fine for street use, as long as you don’t mind a bit of difficulty hearing your stereo and family members. If you want to hear music and family, then you’d better stick with stock mufflers with the Dansk, although it’s not as nice a sound. I prefer stock cats with the LPMM/Fister 1 since it simply sounds better than 100-cell with stock muffs. Like way better. Naturally, 100-cell with Fister 1 sounds even better, but again is too loud for me.

You might gain a few hp with 100 cell, but you’ll never feel that driving and anyone who says otherwise you should consider very very suspect.
