993 RS exhaust difference
I happened to be standing next to a 993 RS at the Greenwich Concours last year when the judges cam by to inspect it and asked the owner to start it. I remember being totally surprised by how quiet it was and wondering why. It didn't even occur to me that they would have a quieter muffler.
@Bill Verburg , what would you do if you were in my position? 😁
1. Cross pipe?
2. Cross pipe + modification of the OEM muffler?
3. Replacing the OEM catalytic converters with 100 CPSI cores + modification of the OEM muffler?
4. A complete system with headers from Cargraphic?
What matters to me? Improved sound and, of course, a power increase.
Thanks a lot for your advice 👍

If there are smog checks it depends on whether it's a visual or actual sniffer test and how stringent they are
for a competent visual you need all the stock components
for a cursory sniffer 100 cell , if it's a little more stringent 200cell
headers don't really add a lot to the program over stock heater boxes on a 993 and they are expensive
That said sometimes they are necessary for one reason or another, I use cat-lass Fabspeed on my 911 w/ 993 motor because that's' the only one that I've found that works well in all the areas I'm concerned w/
@Bill Verburg Thank you for your response. The car was built in 07.1995.
I looked at it from underneath, but I didn’t pay attention.
There will be no emissions inspections.
So, what would you choose?

to double check look for a single O sensor in the center of the cat
OBD2 will have 4 of them, 2 on each side, 1 before the cat 1 after the cat
if OBD1 then
Really? Are you able to compare it to the more common mufflers; like stock vs Fister I, II, III? Like are these sport cats with stock mufflers the same as Fister I, or are we skipping straight to Fister II? I would think, even with stock mufflers there would be some power gains felt. I was thinking these sport cats and Fister II would get me about a Fister III volume.

You might gain a few hp with 100 cell, but you’ll never feel that driving and anyone who says otherwise you should consider very very suspect.
