It actually isn't silicon. It is Sikaflex 227 by Sika. It urethane similar to 3M Windo-Weld. A lot of glass installers use it for that very purpose.

In Anthony's photo above, you can see them on the floor and faintly make out the big "227".

The silver car above is one of the best one's I've seen. It was built in Butzigear's shop. Butzi likely deserves credit over 90% of the build and making it look way better than most RWB's.

That's a relief. I thought he was using Tub & Tile Caulk from your local Home Depot.

Good point on the Sikaflex 227. It's better than tub and tile. lol. I used that stuff to bond a solar panel to a fiberglass roof. Seems to work well. Not sure if Id use it on a 993.... He has a devout following though.

I should have been more specific. I was trying to make a point but you are correct. I am assuming 227, window weld and Beta Seal are all similar? I do agree the silver car is one of the finest I have seen. I also prefer the 993 styling he does vs the 964. He did a nice enough job on these 2 but they definitely need to go back and have the raw edges addressed at min not to mention replacing the wood screws with something else.

I have to say, it would drive me nuts having all these people hovering over you, watching you work.
