The F1 comes in an unbranded housing. Same as OEM, just no "Porsche" script on it.

I just bought a 1998 911 S that only came with one key. I just ordered a 2nd key from the dealership. I want to order the F1 fob. I sent you an email with my key code. Many thanks!

Ryan-
The code you sent is for the physical key, not the immobilizer PIN code, which is what you need to program it. "Fob programming" is a bit of a misnomer. When you program (or pair) a fob to the immo, you aren't actually making any changes to the fob - it's just a dumb transmitter. It's the immo that learns, and stores, the code the fob transmits. There is a procedure in your owner's manual to do the pairing. That procedure puts the immo in "learning mode" where it will wait for you fob(s) to transmit so it can learn their ID. If you didn't get the PIN with the car, you can call a Porsche dealer to get it which they should give you with proof of ownership at no charge. I can program fobs if you can't, or don't want to, but i'll need your immobilizer - and programming is free with the F1. It's a bit of a PITA to remove, so recommend reviewing the procedure in you manual and giving it a try. It's a little tedious and will almost certainly take a few attempts, but it does work. Let me know if that answers your question.

You mentioned in your first post that there might be a way to add a fob without needing programming. All I want to do is add a backup, but my car can't complete the procedure on its own. The free programming you offer with the F1 is great, but I don't want to go through the hassle of removing the immobilizer and sending it to you.. Is there any way around this? A secret shortcut or something?

Yes, there is a way to add an F1 without programming. I'll make an announcement soon on this, but If you're in a hurry, PM me.

I purchased an EZ IMMO Block from @jay@EZimmoblock.com a week or so ago for my 1995 ROW 993 Turbo. Jay was super helpful over the phone. The unit shipped out super quick. The ROW install was super easy and took 20 minutes. The unit works like a charm and is a game changer! I am also eating the a pack of Famous Amos cookies as I type this that Jay included with the unit. Thanks Jay for a fantastic little product!

Outstanding! I've been using an immoblock since being a tester, this is an equally wonderful new development for our cars.

Received and programmed the F1 this weekend after receiving the PIN from my local dealer. I have had the immoblock for a few years and love it. Programming took a few attempts to get the car to go into the programming mode, but once complete it was easy.

I believe my issue with programming stems from using an incorrect security code. The code I found might actually be the radio code. Has anyone successfully obtained the correct code from a dealer by providing the VIN over the phone? I don't have the title. Thank you.

^^^ That.
Years ago I had the same problem. Like you, I suspected the PIN I was using was wrong, so naively just called the Porsche dealer to get it from the VIN. They wouldn't give it to me without me coming in with proof of ownership. That's a bit of a hike for me so I asked if they could at least confirm that what I was using was correct. They agreed to do that over the phone (and it was correct), so give that a try first. Different dealers may have different policies so shop around. If all else fails, send me a fob and I'll make a backup you can use that doesn't need to be programmed. See here
