I read that disclaimer as he was only a customer of the shop, and did not stand to gain financially from the referral. The "business relationship" was confusing since you might think being a customer was a business relationship, but I think he meant otherwise. Just butting in.

S.M Motorsports is a nice place, he does alot of business and Sunny is a friendly guy. I have been a customer of his (for my 944S) and my dad uses him for his '87 Carrera.

I have no experience with specific "New York City" Porsche mechanics, but if you live in and work in Manhattan, check out Manhattan Motor Cars on 11 Ave and 28th Street. They service Porsches and other high end cars. Again, don't know have any experience with Manhattan Motor Cars, however they may be very convenient for you. If so, you may want to make a visit to service department and determine if they are looking for business, chat with some of customers there, and determine service rates.

Others to add to list previously submitted are Prestige Porsche in Nyack, and Pepe Porsche in White Plains. Both are about 30-45 minutes from Manhattan. Both have excellent reputations, and relate well to enthusiasts like us.

Good luck.

TO JC....nothing requires clarification...I have nothing to gain by making the statement.......I have quite a few friends with p-cars in the nyc area and many have had poor experiences with shops (including 2 that you have listed).....and when I directed them to PAR they came away with similiar views about PAR as I have....I didnt think Rob asked for a yellow page listing (or partial listing) of shops which is what it looks like you have provided.

I use DeMan. Very busy little shop. Very knowledgeable and friendly. About 1/2 hour north of New York. Go up palisades parkway to exit 8-E (Nyack). Drive into Village of Nyack, turn left on the corner where the drug store ("McManus Pharmacy")is and a quick right onto New Street.
