From what I have read, 18volt should be adequate to break lug nuts free if torqued within spec (approx. 90lbs). If $29.99 is not a typo, then I'll buy one and if it does not work no biggie.

BTW $149.99 for a 19.2volt is also a screaming deal. Harbor freight is going to be my downfall...in addition to Gerts great deals. Ah...one more slippery slope besides the P-Cars

I have a friend that spent more $$ on Snap-On last year than he did on rent; and he lives in Beverly Hills.

It's not a typo, that's what they charged me. If you get $50 of stuff, shippng is free (they do charge $5.95 handling on any order). They also have a $10 torque wrench on sale. Not the greatest thing, but fine for lug nuts, I've been using one for two years. And throw in $11 of offser ratcheting wrenches, there's your $50. You can also use a coupon code here: http://www.slickdeals.net/forums/arc...ex.php/t-25108 to get some freebees or free shipping with just $39.99 purchase.

BTW, they told me that it can be returned within 30 days free, just call and they send a call tag to pick it up.
I probably sound like a HF commercial, but I have absolutely no affiliation - just passin info along.

I found this possible option in the Off-Topic Forum....now why didn't I think of this????? I'm sure the costs (both initial and ongoing maintenance) are high but I'd be willing to consider it.

To save anyone the trouble, the $29.99 18volt Chicago Industrial impact wrench from Harbor Freight is only good for 87ft. lbs of torque. Not enough to pull tightened lug nuts off. I will be returning my unit, and upgrading to their 19.2volt that is good up to 220ft. lbs. Still a good deal at $129.99. Now I know why the other unit $ looked like a typo.

Note that the maximum torque was not specified on the 18volt unit.

She is holding the best of the best.....Paoli Pit Stop gun.. The gold standard that ALL Champ car and Indy car teams use.. They sell a black and a yellow model, one for each side of the car since the right side wheel nuts are left hand threaded..

BTW, she is nice too
