Post Identifying Mufflers/Tips

I recently purschased a 993TT which had an aftermarket exhaust and tips installed by a previous owner. Shortly after receiving the car, I had the stock exhaust reinstalled and am now attempting to decipher the make of the aftermarket exhaust and tips.

Unfortunately, there are no markings on either part. The chrome tips, however, are somewhat unusual in that they are not strict ovals, but rather are more like rectangles rounded at the edges (a shape very similar to the track layout at Indianapolis for those racing enthusiasts). Other than Fabspeed, B&B and Techart does anyone know other suppliers which made TT compatible exhausts. Thanks in advance.

If you post a photo of your tips, someone might be able to identify them.

Some of the Porsche tips are shown in this thread:

From the above extract of your post, I would suggest that it may well be B&B tips and muffler too. I dont have the B&B headers but you should check to see if you still have the stock manifold or the headers. Click on my "signature" to see it more clearly but I can tell you that your description is almost exactly how I would describe my exhaust tips.

I agree with Ran. Sounds like B&B exhaust, which I had on my previous 993TT. Changed for car color reasons only. BTW - When the two cars were side by side, the B&B was noticably louder (low rumble) at idle. The stock exhaust was so quiet, almost silent by comparison, yet now it seems loud to me at times. Interesting will be this Saturday when I install the FVD 993TT cat bypass pipes, FVD exhaust and OEM Porsche chrome wide oval tips.
