Default Becker CDR-210 Wanted

My new to me 993 came with a cassette player instead of a CD. Do any of you track converted or stereo upgraded 993 owners have an original Becker CDR-210 head unit?? I am looking for a single in-dash CD unit, not a disc changer for the trunk.

Also, is there a simple way to remove the cassette holders from behind the emergency brake on the center console? I keep smashing my elbow on them and popping them open.

TIA.

Check out the cup holders just below the cassette holders. I did this and like it a lot...although it just holds cans. All you do is take one out and screw the other one in.

How do I remove the cassette holders? Is there a simple screw holding them in, or is it more involved?

Simple screw, the tray is a welcome addition to the interior.

Many of us prefer the cup holder for the VW Passat or Jetta. Search the archives for VW cup holder and you will find it. No screws necessary and it becomes nearly invisable when not in use.

I too need a CDR-210 or a traffic pro (you know who you are) but the person who has them are not giving them up just yet.

Hey Fred -
Yeah I know who I am.
I am 99% going to be leaving the country in September - taking the car with me. The Traffic Pro will be for sale then, but I will probably put the CDR 210 back in. So, sorry, can't sell anything right now. BTW picking up shocks, sway bars today - install tomorrow.
I'll let you know if anything changes w/ the radio

Default Hello to all...

My first post here!

I am interested in adding an in-dash cd to my '95 993. Will the the 210 work with my Hi-Fi sound system? Will it work in my car at all?

Thanks, and based upon response, I may be interested in getting one!

Cheers,
H.O.

yup.. it should work fine...

BUT ...what is in your car right now? is the factory harness still there or is it hacked up?

..it can still work if your harness is cut up but it means doing more cutting to do direct connections....

...I finally managed to post mine in the FS section

Welcome to the Board

I know of no reason that it won't work, just swap out your cassette version for the CD version.
