Thanks for the welcome

My system is stock (am/fm cassette) and is unmolested.
It is my hope to be able to unplug the cassette and plug in the cd.

I'll check out your ad and get back to you.

Thanks!

yes, the whole swap should take you less than a Minute *seriously*!

...all you need is the 2 radio removal tools and it is an easy done deal!

I'm also looking for a nice CDR-210. Please let me know if you have one for sale. BTW, the '95 993 may have come with an Alpine stereo. My friend's did. If that is the case, the CDR may not work so easily in that car.

Default Radio compatibility...

I have had some further discussion regarding the ability to "plug and play" a CDR-210 into my current system. A factory am/fm cassette is installed as part of the 1995 Hi-Fi sound package. The radio model is a CR-01 (or CD-01 - My car is in the shop for the Harness recall at the moment) and I've been told this is, in fact, an Alpine manufactured system and IS NOT directly compatible with the CDR-210. Anyone know? Is there a system that IS directly compatible with this system?

Sorry for the nagging, but IMHO if the system isn't directly compatible, I could install a MUCH nicer Blaupunkt in-dash cd for less than the price of a used/reman'd Becker. Afterall, if you're getting into adapters and the rest you may as well go for quality, right?

Thanks, in advance, for your attention and patience with me.

Cheers,
H.O.

hmmm.. would a photo of the CDR210 plugs help?

I can't imagine Porsche changing the factory harness plug in like that but I guess you never know!
