Default Cost to Replace Spark Plug Wires, Rotors, Caps

I have a 1995 993 carrera 2 coupe and was advised that I need to have my spark plugs, rotors, spark plug wires, and caps replaced.

For those who have performed this work recently, could you let me know what an independent Porsche mechanic would likely charge?

Minimally, I'd say $1100-1300 dependent on shop rates.

At the best prices, the parts alone are $850... ($550+ for the wires, 12 plugs @ $6/ea, 2 rotors $25/ea, 2 caps @ $80/ea + tax). So I'd factor $900 + shop labor rates for your area.

I noticed some cracking in mine observed through the rear wheel openings with tires removed. I cleaned the wires with alcohol and brushed liquid electrical tape on the cracks( mostly at the bends in wire). No more misfires noted and a good temporary fix.

Last time I got a quote for wires and plugs alone was $1100. That was 2011 when I purchased my first 993. F$&! that! So I followed instructions found on this forum and DIY’d it. Not difficult at all.

If no history of prior change, also consider replacing the distributor belt. Age, and ozone aren’t nice to that little dizzy belt.

As long as you have the clear plastic tubing connecting dizzy to rear blower ducts (and it’s airtight) then Ozone is not an issue.
25yrs+ of heat soak on the other hand....

my work was bundled with a few other things like a leaking gasket, but it was more than $2k to have everything you listed done.
