help required to find 993 noise
I have only recently found the Rennlist although I have owned a few 944 & 911's.
Other members of the Porsche GB Club said that you might be able to help me find a noise on my newly aquired 1995 Varioram.
It only appears above 60mph and comes from the LHS of the dashboard. It sounds like a dry speedo cable or blower motor screeching.
So far I have taped up the windshield surround ; taped up the exterior air inlet below the windshield ; tried the A/C and air blowers in different modes. All have no effect on the noise. I can hear what I think is the fan on the A/C sensor running after the engine is switched off and that sounds normal. It seems to be totally speed related. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Gerry, see if the noise goes away when you switch the climate control from fresh air to recirculated air. My former 95 C4 would make a high-pitched whistling sound at freeway speeds if the air was not recirculated.
