Bob,
As mentioned on my original post, my 1996 MSP option came with MSP Bischoff mufflers. I am not sure about your year models.

Ron,
This looks identical to the Fabspeed airbox. Did you make this yourself?

Jonathan,
I didn’t make it but bought it from someone who did. Check this link http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMESE%3AIT

Jonathan, thanks for the pic. Your tips look the same as mine. Sorry I can't post a pic, I'm a retard with computers, and can't figure out how to downsize the file for posting.

The Motor Sound option #159 included Motorsound mufflers, drilled airbox w/plastic "chrome" inlet & special tips. Another MS option excluded the mufflers.

Jonathan-

So, have you taken it out for a spin yet and had a chance to listen to them yourself?

What do YOU think?

Jonathan,
I went from motorsound to RSR's 2 years ago. I installed the new mufflers w/o my wife knowing (She is anti ANY change to the car). We took a drive up to Santa Barbara, and as we were idling on State street she turned to me and said "Did you do something to the car? It sounds louder". The thing is that its was not grossly louder and I was able to convince her of no wrong doing.

I do have to say though, that Temple and I ran our cars side by side (my RSR's, his Motorsound) and I dont think he felt the increase merited a change.

We are close, so let me know if you want to meet and you can hear for yourself.

Dan,
Thanks for the info on the MS options! There seemed to be a lot of confusion on what came with that package.

Ron,
I think I'll try drilling holes before cutting up my airbox. Thanks.

Kelly,
It'll be thoroughly tested this weekend! Thanks.

Gohno,
Thanks for the offer! .. honesty is the best policy.. =)

That's strange. I had the motor sound mufflers on my 993 S & my brother had the RSR's on his 993 cab. The difference in sound levels was night and day. The RSR's sounded much louder inside & outside the car. So, either some RSR's are louder or there is a difference between sound levels of cabs & widebodys.

Jonathan,
I tried to PM you, but your mailbox is full.?
It irks me that I didn't think to check my PN's before sending them to Robin, but I did weigh them.
Maybe they were different, but all I know for sure is the RSR's are a couple pounds lighter.
Reading the previous posts has not resolved the issue, either. Next time I'm at a P-car gathering, I'll be checking airboxes, mufflers and tips for myself. I must know, I must know

Jeff,
My mailbox is okay now.. I sent Robin an email but haven't heard back from him. I'll let you know when I find out.
