Default Rear seat removal question

The search feature has not been my friend on this.

I have removed the rear seats from my '95. There is a metal hinge located between the seats at the base of the seat backs.

Is it possible to remove this hinge piece? I don't see an obvious way...

The bracket between the two rear seat backs is not removable without cutting it off. It is spot-welded to the sheetmetal underneath the plastic cover and carpet.

Some people hack them off when doing an RS carpet kit, which is how my car arrived to me. One of my first projects was sourcing a new bracket and dusting off my TIG welder to reattach it.
