Best Bra? (did search)
Well, the planets lined up and it all came together. I just pulled the trigger on a '98 993 and will be flying to pick it up at the end of next week. I will probably drive it back, about 1200 miles.
What bra have you found to be the best? Function more important than looks but if possible I'd like to get white.
Thanks!!

Tape the car up with Gaffer's Tape...comes off without leaving any residue. When you get home have the car treated with 3M clear tape...most will agree that this is the best way to go. Speed lingerie (spelling?) may be an option as well. Having had a Colgan bra come off the car at 90 mph, in a corner at a race track, I have lost my desire to ever have a car bra again...I went for the 3M treatment. It has been on nearly 2 1/2 years and it still looks good.

Thanks guys. Pardon my ignorance but what is gaffers tape? Surely not duct tape? I know what you mean about the clear bra. Had it on my last two cars, but won't have time when I pick up the 993.

Jastx,
Gaffer's tape is used by the motion picture industry and still photographers. Gaffers are in charge of lighting a set. The tape has a strong adhesive but it generally leaves very little residue, unless you leave it on for a long time. Try servicephoto.com; it's where I get my supplies.

I am pleased with the speedlingie mask. matches color quite well and does not overlap the top of front fenders. I also have a colgan for my C4S that I sewed plastic over headlights and turn signal opening and that has helped getting dirt to rug against the paint.

I'm too, am currently considering the Speed Lingerie Bra (it's the best on the market) or the 3M-type solutions (Invincashield, XPel, etc.).
One thing that concerns me, at least in my neck of the woods (Bay Area, CA), is that the bra may get stolen while it's parked somewhere. It's not cheap at $550+, and I would hate to come out and find it gone while I was enjoying my dinner somewhere...
Just adding my .02.

I'd go with a combination of mag bra and 3M -- get the mag bra now for the trip -- that will protect your hood - then add 3M to the bumper when you get the car home.

FWIW, I had Llumar film installed on my 360, and within a week was parked next to another Modena that had 3M, and the difference in clarity was striking. If you have time to do the research, try to find a similar comparison, I can't imagine anyone picking the 3M anymore. They are the same mil thickness so protection factor should be the same.

I asked my wife and She said either the Cross your heart or
the Victorias secret collection. I think the 3m stuff is the way
to go, look ar our rock gaurds. I ruined a Porsche along time
ago with a bra. never again. BTW at Willow I saw a black
Cayenne TT (tow vehicle) with a clear bra on. it was the
first dark car I had seen and it looked great!
