Post I'm now a 993 owner

Thanks everyone for your help on making the decision as to whether to buy a 993 or not. While I have not been able to resolve the issue of the "too small" seats at this point, I just couldn't pass up the 993. It's a '98 C2S - Arctic Silver. I'll post some pics when I pick it up on Wednesday. I was able to get them to certify it and throw in an extra set of painted wheel caps for the second set of wheels. Thanks again!

P.S. Anyone want to possibly trade a set of 18" turbo twists for two sets of cup wheels and tires?

Congradulations! That's awesome, now another S owner in the capital reigon. So far I know of our car, your car, an arena red C4S, and a dark blue C4S (sold for an '02 silver C4S). Hopefully I'll see you driving around sometime, or maybe we can even meet up somewhere when our C4S is back in one piece. Congradulations again!

P.S. - when do you pick it up???

I'm picking it up on Wednesday... they have to finish the 45k service. I'd love to get together sometime... Of course, I buy my porsche today.. and then i pulled in my garage with my X5 and scraped the drivers side rear door against the side of my garage... it's hosed.. will have to be repainted and have the trim over the drivers side rear wheel replaced. Grrr!

Labatt, I feel your pain. My wife backed out of the garage w/ her SUV and wiped out the two drivers side doors on my Audi S4. It reminded me of that carfax commercial where that old lady backs into a tree.

Way to go - good choice over the 996, though I'm highly biased! Those "too narrow seats" will not feel like that after a month of driving it. I got used to mine and now prefer the 993 narrow seat, over my huge, non supportive BMW 740i seat.

Nice color, and last of the air cooleds. How could life be any better. Going to the Hershey Swap meet? You should if you can! It's a blast.

Speaking of weird, I just saw this post on my BMW website... They really screwed up the 745i - I hope this fixes it somewhat.

"Dear Readers,

There was a dramatic announcement in the March 24th. issue of AutoWeek (online at www.autoweek.com) - BMW is restyling the 745Li / 760Li. I quote "an all-new tail and face, with an improved trunk lid line and the elimination of the Dame Edna eyebrows over the headlights." The redesign will be out by December 2003 and is the first time BMW has ever reskinned a car so quickly after introduction."

Welcome to the P-car experience! I can say that after owning mine for the past year, I love it even more than the day I picked it up. Just make sure your piggy bank has some play money because you will be visiting the Rennlist sponsors often

You can do no wrong with a Carrera S, except for maybe a Turbo!

Congratulations & welcome to the fold.

It might be worth considering picking up a set of 18" w/tires (about $1500) & keeping a set of the 17" Cups for snow tires. You could sell the other set OR keep them for track tires
